Lillian Beneavente McEnery, EdD is co-founder, diagnostician, and a director of the Board of Dynamic Learners, Inc. (DLI) in the metropolitan area of Houston, Texas. Dr. McEnery earned her doctoral degree in curriculum and instruction at the University of Houston and a Master of Science degree in reading at the University of Houston. Lillian is a professor of education, the director of the reading clinic, and the former interim associate dean of education at the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
Lillian has over 30 years of experience working with learners of all ages. She began her career as a public school elementary teacher and as a literacy diagnostician for K-12 and community college students. Professionally, she trains graduate students who work with a variety of individuals with learning disabilities, including those with dyslexia, attention deficit disorder, auditory processing disorder, and academic curriculum-gaps. Lillian’s research includes motivation and engagement factors in the areas of reading and writing, the fostering and development of active learning environments, and family literacy initiatives within at-risk communities. She has facilitated numerous workshops and research presentations nationally and internationally. She provides professional development in the area of literacy to many school districts. Lillian has received several professional awards for her teaching and research.
As a DLI board director, she participates in decisions and activities to promote our mission and programs. She engages in community outreach with individuals, organizations, and businesses that will provide financial support for our clients who represent underserved individuals with learning disabilities. As a DLI diagnostician, she conducts diagnostic analysis and prescribes personalized learning solutions for our clients. Lillian is passionate about working alongside learners of all ages to assist them in gaining strategies and mindsets that empower them to experience success in school and life.
